Be the first to comment Palau's Jellyfish Lake (Palauan: Ongeim'l Tketau: Fifth Lake) contains an estimated 10 million golden mastigia jellyfish (Mastigia sp.), a landlocked species which evolved from the spotted jellyfish after it was denied access to the sea. Over the course of a millennia, the jellyfish has lost its sting due to the lack of predators. Swimmers and divers may thus safely go through the masses without concern.
